Hello
My name is Iz Varland [they/them], I'm pursuing my Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering at Boise State University. I work in Boise State's College of Engineering machine stop (Engineering Innovation Studio) and build personal projects in my free time. I'm currently specializing in aerospace and automated systems.
My Story

The first thing I ever built was a wood go kart with my father at 4. Once I turned 8, I built my first robot. A little wood lizard using two servos to wiggle across the ground. Ever since, I have been designing and building progressively more complex projects. I high school I built one of my favorite projects, an electric go kart -Red Rover- that can drive a track entirely autonomously. This was one of the first projects that I worked on independently.

It was an easy choice to attend Boise State as a mechanical engineering student. A major I had my eye on since seventh grade. I am currently enjoying my classes and making the most of the research projects and engineering extra curriculars available.
